Alex Forester
Angels and Demons – Dan Brown
Angels and Demons is an astounding novel, which given the fictional plot, gives a strange feeling of possibilities through the ideas that it presents.
This is the first book to feature Robert Langdon, prequel to the Da Vinci Code. I read the book before the film, this was a good thing for me because I felt that the dramatic feeling that the book created made the pages turn themselves, while, as good a film as it is, the film could not capture the way that tension builds overtime within the mind. Browns method of micro cliff hangers between chapters is an impressive tool that has made it a book that is difficult to put down.
I would highly recommend this book because of its fluent easy to read nature, as well genuinely good thriller. It will especially be good to people interested in conspiracies as it is about church conspiracy, this book touches on the boundaries of fact and fiction making it lull you into belief in your mind that it could all be happening. While these conspiracies are fiction the sceptics out there may say that it is a ridicules book that tries to make you believe in childish unrealistic events however they may be interested to see the way that Brown has focused on the thriller aspect and how the book keeps all readers interested.
Dan Brown has outdone himself with what is in my opinion the strongest book he has done so far.
