'Noughts and Crosses' Description

Sephy is a Cross - a member of the dark-skinned ruling class. Callum is a nought - a 'colourless' member of the underclass who were once slaves to the Crosses. The two have been friends since early childhood. But that's as far as it can go. Until the first steps are taken towards more social equality and a limited number of Noughts are allowed into Cross schools...Against a background of prejudice and distrust, intensely highlighted by violent terrorist activity by Noughts, a romance builds between Sephy and Callum - a romance that is to lead both of them into terrible danger...

Rachel

A stunning piece of writing that will open your eyes to the wonders and problems that many people will have suffered from. Malorie Blackman is a inspiring woman all over from her imagination to her wisdom. I believe that this book can and should change a persons mind on certain things. I would recommend it a 12+ due to the fact that overall, it is fairly easy to read and understand. Malorie takes it as far as it needs too (sex scene's ect) which allows us to crave for more. I can honestly say that my mind was crawling with how a novel could move someone so much, I was silently tearing up as my mind went from Callums mind to Sephys. I would put this as one of my top books I have ever read. As a thirteen year old I never placed it down for more than an hour. Ps: Is it weird that Jude is one of my favourite characters?
