Safety at Street Works and Road Works: A Code of Practice

This title sets out the statutory requirements for signing, lighting and guarding excavations and other street works on all roads except motorways and dual carriageways with hard shoulders. Although the code is directed primarily at the operative, supervisors and managers have an important reponsibility to ensure that all street and road works and operatives are safe. This is a reference manual for utility companies, local authorities, street work contractors and others whose day-to-day business involves street work.
