'Secrets of the Baby Whisperer' Description

Tracy Hogg knows babies. She can calm even the most distressed or difficult infant, because she understands their language. Hence, her clients call her 'The Baby Whisperer'. Her incredible sensitivity and ability to read infants' cries, coos and assorted baby noises quickly earned Tracy the admiration and gratitude of high-profile couples, including a host of celebrities. In this remarkable book, Tracy demystifies the magic she has performed with some five thousand babies. She teaches parents how to work out what kind of baby they have, what kind of mother and father they are, and what kind of parenting plan will work best for them. Believing that babies need to become part of the family - rather than dominate it - she has developed a practical programme that works with infants as young as a day old. Her methods are also applauded by scientists: 'Tracy's is a voice that should be heard. She appears very knowledgeable about modern infant research and has incorporated this to a level parents can understand. In spite of all the baby how-tos on the market, this one will stand out.'

Literally could not have lived without it. I can't recommend it enough. A nice relaxed, sensible, not patronising, must read.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD BOOK. I WATCHED THE PROGRAM ON TV AND THEN I GOT THE BOOK. I WISH I HAD THIS BOOK WITH MY FIRST CHILD. ITS REALLY LEARNT ME A LOT AND I NOW ADVISE ANYBODY HAVING A BABY TO BUY THE BOOK.I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND BOTH HAD COLIC AND SLEEPING PROBLEMS AND I DIDNT GET THE HELP I NEEDED OFF MY DOCTOR OR MY HEALTH VISITOR.

This book was an absolute life saver! Tracy's tips on how to understand what your baby is telling you from body language and different cries helped us tremendously and her idea of having a structured routine, but not a military-style clock watching regime, made the first few weeks with our baby so much easier to cope.

Her tips on breastfeeding and how to get your baby to sleep on his/her own were especially useful.

Of course, we haven't taken absolutely everything on board, but this book is basically our "baby bible" and contains a great deal of common sense advice. Parenting was a completely alien concept to us but after having read this book we feel much more relaxed about how to care for our baby and consequently our baby is a contented little guy. He is now so easy to understand, we've got a basic routine that he more or less sticks to, he sleeps well in his own room and is a happy chap.

Highly recommendable.
