Hiaasen/Brookmyre watch out!
I thoroughly enjoyed this excellent crime thriller. It was like a cross between the wit and pace of a Christopher Brookmyre novel crossed with the grit and edge of a Guy Richie movie, with the unexpected twists and turns of a Carl Hiaasen thrown in to boot! I was on the edge of my seat to the very end.
I would praise this highly as a first novel because it comes across as much more accomplished. I loved some of the characterisations and if you have ever had any knowledge of South West London or Winchester you will really enjoy the local references!
This book really bodes well for Mr Glover - if he can continue to put out work of this quality he could gain quite a following.
If you want a fast paced, funny, brutal crime/gang thriller then this is the book for you.

An excellent book from a debut author. An intelligent new voice in crime writing. This British set and very "Brit gangster" book us fast paced, action packed and chock full of dynamic charaycres, witty dialogue and twisting plots.
The book has interesting subtexts and explores the darker sides of peoples souls. It should please the holiday reader and the deeper thinker alike.
