'The Gormenghast Trilogy' Description

Gormenghast is the vast, crumbling castle to which the seventy-seventh Earl, Titus Groan, is lord and heir. Titus is expected to rule this gothic labyrinth of turrets and dungeons, and his eccentric and wayward subjects, according to strict age-old rituals, but things are changing in the castle. Titus must contend with treachery, manipulation and murder as well as his own longing for a life beyond the castle walls.

Customer Reviews for 'The Gormenghast Trilogy'

Joe Powell

A brilliant trilogy that’s just been made into a major BBC production. Great characterisation, excellent story and a gripping narrative. One of the best books I've ever read, charting the life and love of the 77th Earl of Groan. An absolute masterpiece by Peake who battled to finish the final novel in the grip of a terminal illness. Highly recommended!
