'The Other Hand' Description

We don't want to tell you too much about this book. It is a truly special story and we don't want to spoil it. Nevertheless, you need to know something, so we will just say this: It is extremely funny, but the African beach scene is horrific. The story starts there, but the book doesn't. And it's what happens afterwards that is most important. Once you have read it, you'll want to tell everyone about it. When you do, please don't tell them what happens either. The magic is in how it unfolds.

Brilliant book, Loved It!

Emily H

Very over-rated and over-hyped and so ultimately disappointed. If I had gone into this with lower expectations then I might have enjoyed more. the book starts well with Little Bee in the detention centre, and I loved her Jamaican friend, but it went downhill from there. Some parts are completely unrealistic, and a serious story is devalued by the author turning all "chick-lit" in style in places. The build up to the reveal of the life changing event is far too much, and it is an anticlimax when the reader finally finds out the story. I will listen to my friends reviews rather than the over-hyped publisher synopsis in future

Abi

I loved this book. Its full of happy moments, sad times and some excellent twists. It all unravels beautifully and you almost get to create your own ending, though you know what is going to happen. Amazing novel
