'Through My Eyes' Description

Through My Eyes is the first official book from Cheryl Cole. Featuring a series of stunning exclusive new photos plus informal shots from her own personal collection, it gives us a unique glimpse into the life of the nation's favourite star. From the recording studio in LA as she works on her debut album to backstage in Dublin on the opening night of her tour with the Black Eyed Peas, Cheryl shares with us some of her stand-out moments as a solo artist. We also explore the other elements of her stratospherically successful career as she takes us behind the scenes at The X Factor, into the world of L'Oreal, through the music industry's top awards ceremonies and into the windswept desert in California for a spectacular shoot under freezing conditions where we see her taking time off and enjoying rare moments of anonymity. Through the pictures that mean the most to her and their stories, which are told in her own words, Through My Eyes is a revealing and intimate portrait of the world of Cheryl Cole.

Customer Reviews for 'Through My Eyes'

Jane

Some people have said this autobiography should not even be classified a book due to its fragmented style of writing and lack of writing at all (instead it contains small paragraphs accompanied by several pictures) and should be dubbed a "photo album". However, I beg to differ. I found it an enjoyable read and well worth the money due to the quality of the pictures and all of the unseen pictures included. That said, I did not pay the full price, I bought it half price in the sales. It only took me about an hour to read, but I enjoyed it thoroughly as most of what I read I had not known before. With over 200 pages, it is something well worth adding to the collection of any Cheryl fan. The style of writing is not too simplistic that it becomes mind-numbing, but also not over-complicated so that it becomes an effort rather than a pleasure to read. It is suitable for all audiences, and all fans. I would not recommend this autobiography for anyone expecting it to be an insight into Cheryl's personal life and relationships, it is more a thorough description of public events, but told from her own perspective. For example: touring, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, The X Factor (and her performance on the X Factor), etc. She even manages to give some sought after make-up tips! Despite my praise for the book, I would not go as far as paying £20 for it, and its RRP (Recommended Retail Price) is its only downfall.
