To order a product from WHSmith.co.uk, browse the site for products of interest. Next to each product you have the option of adding it to your Basket. Adding a product to your Basket does not commit you to buying it - you can always remove items later.
Once you have placed one or more items in your Basket and you are ready to place your order click the Checkout button to proceed. Now you enter our Secure Server - all information you enter from this point on will be transmitted in an encrypted format for your security.
At the Checkout you enter your details if you are a new customer or login if you are a returning customer and then confirm your order. Once you confirm your order we will pre-authorise your credit card for the order value and an email will be sent to you summarising your order. Your orders will then be packaged and dispatched to your chosen delivery address. You will not be charged for any item from your order until they are about to be dispatched to you.
Please be aware that there are separate checkouts for some of our products, notably DVDs, CDs and Games checkout via WHSmithEntertainment.co.uk.
Ordering Items With Different Availability
When you order products from WHSmith.co.uk that have different delivery estimates you can be assured that you will still receive your products as soon as possible.
If one product is In Stock and another has an estimated dispatch time of 1-2 weeks the In Stock item will be dispatched straight away.
The out of stock item will then be sent as soon as it becomes available. This will not affect the postage charge confirmed at the time of placing your order.
Pre-Orders
Some of the items that WHSmith.co.uk offer for sale are available to order before they are released or published.
You can place an order for a product as soon as it is listed as available to order on our website.
The product will remain on order with us until its release date at which point it will then be dispatched to you.
Items which are available to pre-order are presented with the availability message of "Pre-Order". The date that the product is likely to be released or published is shown on the product’s details page.
Payment will only be debited when we have your order ready to dispatch to you.
Ordering From WHSmith Jersey
When you place an order for a product priced at £18 or less for home delivery, excluding books, your order may be fulfilled by WHSmith Jersey Ltd.
WHSmith Jersey Ltd will dispatch your order directly to you and you will be bound by the terms and conditions of supply for WHSmith Jersey Ltd, as set out within the WHSmith Jersey section of our Terms & Conditions.
It is important that these terms and conditions are read and fully understood before confirming an order, as this action signifies your explicit agreement to be bound by them.
Under existing regulations, low value import consignments (under £18) may be exempted from import VAT therefore WHSmith Jersey Ltd are able to offer customers competitive prices.

Order Receipt
When you confirm your order on the website we will carry out a standard pre-authorisation check on your payment card.
Should the transaction be declined by your bank your order will not be accepted unless you provide alternative payment details.
Once your order has been accepted you will be sent an email confirming that WHSmith.co.uk has received and is processing your order.
We recommend that you check this email to make sure that your details were entered correctly, as any changes to the order need to be made as soon as possible.
Order Confirmation
Once you have confirmed your order we will send you a confirmation email. You may also print a copy of your order confirmation page for your records. To do this click the ‘Print’ button at the top of your order confirmation page.
Ordering by Telephone
Although WHSmith.co.uk is secure and a safe place to shop we understand that some customers prefer the option of placing their orders by telephone.
To place an order with us please have ready details of what you want to order, ideally this will include the product code or ISBN.
Please also have your payment details ready. Please note that we must have your complete postcode to place an order.
Once you are ready to order please call 0845 604 6543 and select option 1. The Customer Service team will be happy to place your order for you, and will provide you with your order reference number should you need to contact us again about your order.
Ordering from our Partners
WHSmith.co.uk work with partner companies to extend the range of goods and services we offer. In purchasing a product from one of our partners you will be forming a contract with the partner and not with WHSmith.co.uk so it is important that you read and understand our Partner’s terms and conditions as they may vary to those of WHSmith.co.uk.
Partner companies will also have different ordering, checkout processes, payment and returns policies.
When you click on a partner’s product within the WHSmith.co.uk website you will be redirected to the partner’s website, which may contain WHSmith branding.
Here you will see detailed information on the selected product, stock positions and prices. If you chose to order the item you will be directed through the partner’s check out process.
As orders placed with these partner sites are processed discretely; it is not possible to combine orders for several different items across different companies. Deliveries can only be made to a personal address and not a WHSmith store, the relevant delivery charges are provided on each website.
