London-born Jojo Moyes has had a varied career – before studying at Royal Holloway and Bedford new College, University of London, she typed brail statements for a bank, wrote brochure content for Club 18-30 and did a stint as a minicab controller. She then went on to work for The Independent for ten years. In 2002, she became a full-time novelist when her first book, Sheltering Rain, was published. She has since written a further eleven novels and is one of only a handful of authors to have won the Romantic Novelists' Association's Romantic Novel of the Year Award twice.
Her critically-acclaimed book Me Before You was the well-deserved winner of the WHSmith Richard and Judy Book Club Spring 2012. Me Before You went on to sell over three million copies internationally. In 2016 a movie adaptation of Me Before You was released.
