Have I got an account?

You've got an account if you chose to add a password when you checked out or you chose to transfer your details from our previous website.

If you have forgotten your password enter your email address on the change password page. To reset your password to activate your account by logging in on my account, entering your email address, click “YES I have a password” and then click “Forgotten password”.

Do I need an account to shop with

No - you can shop as a guest. You can choose to create an account so that we remember your details and you can track your order.

Why should I create an account?

By creating an account you'll get these benefits:

  • track your order
  • quick checkout next time
  • cancel an order online if you wish
  • create a wish list
  • review your order history
  • manage your email newsletter preferences

It's really easy to create an account. Just add a password on the confirmation page when you checkout or go to My Account.

If I create an account can I view orders I made before I created an account?

No - you can only view the order you just placed (if you create an account when you check out) and any subsequent orders.

How do I update my details?

Once you've created an online account with WHSmith you can see or update your personal details at any time by going to My Account. In My Details you can change your name, address, contact details and password.

In your address book you can add an address and set a preferred delivery and billing addresses - we will always offer these addresses first when you checkout.

You only add payment cards in our checkout.

How do I change my newsletter preferences?

Our emails are a great way to keep up to date with the latest WHSmith offers and news. You don't need to have an account to sign up.

If you have an account, you can let us know which products you're interested in (we aim to send tailored emails in the future):

1. log into My Account

2. select My Details change email newsletters

Log In Now

To unsubscribe from WHSmith emails, click the unsubscribe link in an email or go to:

4. select unsubscribe

I've forgotten my password. What do I do?

Visit the Forgotten Password page and enter your email address

(Alternatively, visit the My Account page, select "I have an account" and a link to the Forgotten Password page will appear.)

We'll email you a link to a page on which you can create a new password

This is secure, as your email address is unique to you and we only send links to create new passwords to the email address you registered with.

What happened to my account from the previous WHSmith site?

For customers who registered with our previous website (prior to 12th August 2013) we have securely transferred your account to this new website. So there is no need to re-enter your addresses or payment cards.

We have improved password security so to activate your account please reset your password - it will only take a minute.

How do I create a Wish List?

You'll need an account to create a wish list. Create an account now

To add something to your Wish List, select Add to Wish List on any product page. You'll be asked to log in, if you're not already.

When you're in your Wish List, you can:

  • see what's on your list
  • see what you've recently added
  • see if there are any current offers on any of the items
  • buy something from your list (add to your basket and go to the checkout)
  • delete something from the list
  • send your Wish List to friends and family

Note - products will remain on your wish list if somebody buys them for you.

How do I buy something from my Wish List?

Visit your Wish List in My Account. Alongside each product is an add to basket button. Click this button and proceed through checkout
