Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award 2020
The award that crime fiction fans plan their year around - The Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award - is back again, ready to crown a new winner of the most distinguished crime-writing prizes in the UK.
This year’s longlist contains established authors and past winners, including Val McDermid, Denise Mina and Lee Child, as well fresh new voices that have caused a stir such as Harriet Tyce and Oyinkan Braithwaite. And now it’s down to crime fans to vote for our favourite book that we want to see on the shortlist. The first round of voting closes on Thursday 4th June 2020, and the shortlist will be announced on Monday 8th June. We’ll then have the chance to vote for the book on the shortlist that that we think deserves to the crowned The Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year 2020.
