About Author

Dr. Daniel Thomas B.Eng (Hons)., M.Sc., Eng.D., C.Sci., C.Eng., FBCS is an interdisciplinary researcher and writer who comes from an academic background in materials engineering, 3D Bioprinting, and tissue engineering disciplines. Zita is an Academic Clinical Lecturer in the Reconstructive Surgery & Regenerative Medicine Research Group at Swansea University and Registrar at the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery, part of the Welsh Clinical Academic Track (WCAT) scheme. Zita studied medicine at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge and commenced research during her Master of Arts degree in Pharmacology. She has held teaching positions as a Cambridge University Supervisor for medical undergraduates, an Anatomy Demonstrator at Imperial College London and is a Royal College of Surgeons WIMAT (The Welsh Institute for Minimal Access Therapy) Basic Surgical Skills Tutor. Iain Stuart Whitaker currently holds the current position of Chair of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Swansea University College of Medicine and Honorary Consultant Plastic Surgeon at The Welsh Centre for Burns & Plastic Surgery. After reading medicine at Trinity Hall, Iain completed a sub-internship in plastic surgery at Harvard Medical School which inspired his interest in plastic surgery, developing over the years a significant publication track record in the areas of reconstructive and trauma surgery. He has been involved in international multi-disciplinary collaborations with Uppsala, Utrecht, Louisville, Connecticut & Melbourne culminating in the award of a PhD and over 150 publications and several books.
