This is an innovative biblical study that uses a new experimental form of analytical interpretation. This work adapts the methods of socio-rhetorical interpretation, as developed by Vernon K. Robbins, to an analysis of the passages dealing with the "trumpet plagues" in the "Book of Revelation (Revelation 8: 2-9:21 and 11: 15-18)". Socio-rhetorical interpretations deal with inner texture, intertexture, social and cultural texture, ideological texture and sacred texture. The text of Revelation is intricate and complex. Its style shows the influence of other texts, Greco-Roman culture, and the implied author's rhetorical strategies. The consistent application of the socio-rhetorical methodology demonstrates how examining the various textures of the work produces new literary, sociological and theological insights into the meaning of a text.
