This is the most detailed set of translations in Aggadic Midrash, the language in which the "Torah" was written. "Aggadic Midrash I: A Sample Reader" is a two-volume reference work that introduces scholars new to the field a two-fold service: first, to be able to hold in a single volume a bouquet of existing ancient aggadic collections in order to begin their own critical work on whatever collection or collections they find interesting and need to address; and second, to provide a single-volume reference to the location of manuscript and version resources, including the extent and divergence of content comparative to other MSS and versions of the same collection, in order that scholars may with facility and confidence proceed with advanced research on any of the component collections with the knowledge that their source-base has been compiled for them, and there is a direction as to where they may access these basic materials.
1. Rabbinic Approbation, Harav Nevo Zuckerman; 2. Introduction, Timothy Hegedus; 3. Aggadic Sources; 4. Non-Aggadic Sources.
