We were two mixed race children, brought up in the care system. Who were we? Where had we been born? It seemed enough that we had a roof over our heads, but there was something missing, - love. Showing of affection by care staff was frowned upon; questions about our past were taboo. But there is in all of us a need to know about our past, our roots, and our heritage. We were many years later, to find out were not alone.
Nathan Fellows was born on the 5th of April 1945 in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He was born as a result of a war-time romance between his English mother, his father being a black American G.I. Having written his story some time ago, Nathan has decided to publish his story of both he and his Sister Jean's experiences having being put into the care of the Children's Society in 1946.
