Patricia L. Roberts (Ed.D. Literature, University of the Pacific; M.A. Administration, Fresno State College; B.A. Curriculum, Fresno State College) is Professor of Education, California State University, Sacramento. Dr. Roberts has authored over 15 books including A Resource Guide for Elementary School Teaching: Planning for Competence, 3rd Edition, and A Red, White, and Blue Day: A Resource Guide for Teaching History Through Literature, 1-8. She has taught children's literature, language arts and reading, and served as coordinator of a Teacher Education Center (Elementary). She is on the board of SIGNAL (International Reading Association Special Interest Group), writes for journals, and is a member of the National Council of Research on the Teaching of English and other professional groups.
