About Author

S. Morton McPhail is a senior vice president and managing principal with Valtera Corporation (formerly Jeanneret & Associates, Inc.). He has served as a consultant for more than twenty-eight years to a wide variety of public and private sector clients on issues ranging from selection, training and development, and performance assessment to termination. Dr. McPhail is a licensed psychologist and serves as adjunct faculty for the University of Houston and Rice University. The Professional Practice Series is sponsored by The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Inc. (SIOP).
