Max Crawford was one of Australia's pre-eminent historians. Dr Fay Anderson is a lecturer at the Australian Centre, University of Melbourne. Fay has worked as a researcher and tutored in the History Department and Australian Centre at the University of Melbourne and is presently the Chair of the History of the University Unit. In 2004 she received an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant for her research on the history of Australian war journalism.
