About the Author
Xavier Llor, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Medicine (Digestive Diseases); Medical Director, Colorectal Cancer Prevention Program; Co-Director, Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program, Medical Oncology, at the Yale Cancer Center. He has made seminal contributions to the field of Lynch syndrome diagnosis, as well as in the definition of other non-polyposis syndromic colorectal cancer cases. His most recent work is helping doctors and researchers understand the biological differences that contribute to disparities in colorectal cancer. Erin Wysong Hofstatter, MD, is Associate Professor and Co-Director, Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program, Medical Oncology, Yale Cancer Center. She serves as a breast medical oncologist at the Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital, where she treats patients with breast cancer. Dr. Hofstatter also serves as the Co-Director of the Smilow Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program/Director of the Breast Cancer Prevention Clinic, where she cares for patients who may be at increased risk of breast cancer due to a hereditary/genetic predisposition, a strong family history, or breast atypia.
