Why is it that we allow the devastation of our civilisation to happen in front of our very eyes? How much longer can be afford to continue being the passive observers of this decline? In a broad-ranging but down-to-earth style, Danuta Nowak digs deep to unearth the roots of our spiral towards self-destruction and goes on to highlight the pathways that lead to hope, and a brighter future. Challenging, pointed and forward-thinking, Civilisation presents an accessible critique of the issues that every modern world citizen needs to face.
Danuta Nowak was born in Poland in 1953. She has Master degrees in both Chemical Engineering and Engineering Science (Waste Management). Her studies in environmental areas have convinced her that there are deeper reasons for humanity's failure to address environmental problems. This is turn has led her into disciplines such as psychology, sociology and comparative religions. This holistic approach to the problem has led directly to this book.
