Michael Huckabee, PhD, PA-C, is Professor and Director, Division of Physician Assistant Education, and Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, College of Allied Health Professions, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha. He has continued to provide patient care as a PA for over 30 years, primarily in rural Nebraska. At UNMC, Dr. Huckabee leads the development of a national physician assistant research agenda, expanding online education programs for PAs in the field and establishing a distant site campus for PA education in central Nebraska. Over the course of his career he has managed federally funded projects nearing $3 million that continue to support health care for underserved populations. Dr. Huckabee is widely published on several health care and education subjects and is well known in the leadership field, speaking at conferences on topics such as Servant Leadership, Clinical Leadership, and Leadership Education. Dr. Huckabee is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and has served as Abstracts and Brief Reports Editor for the Journal of Physician Assistant Education.
