Description
The Deadly Affair
Drama directed by Sidney Lumet, based on the novel 'Call for the Dead' by John le Carre. Charles Dobbs (James Mason) is a British intelligence officer who is sent to investigate an anonymous letter sent to the Foreign Secretary accusing a key officer, Samuel Fennan (Robert Flemyng), of communist affiliation. When Fennan commits suicide Dobbs begins to suspect that his wife, a concentration camp survivor, may hold the key to his despair. But the Foreign Office wants to drop the case so Dobbs hires soon-to-retire Detective Inspector Mendel (Harry Andrews) to delve further into the circumstances behind Fennan 's death - which turn out to be more sinister than Dobbs could have imagined.More Details
