Highlighting a number of green topics, this resource offers a unique, thoughtful approach to environmental education in early childhood settings. Background information, resources, and 100 hands-on lessons and activities will excite children, engage families, and encourage communities to be green. Suggestions are provided to present these topics in an age-appropriate manner that honours young children's sense of wonder and curiosity.
Patty Born Selly is the founder of Small Wonders, an educational consulting company, and serves as adjunct faculty at Hamline University and Metropolitan State University, where she teaches classes on children, nature, and environmental education. Patty is also a preschool/early elementary teacher at the Science Museum of Minnesota and trainer of early childhood educators through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
