Joanne Watson was born in East Yorkshire and developed a lifelong interest in history from an early age, studying Politics and Modern History at University. Her career took her in a different direction as a Sports Producer and Editor with BBC Radio but having renewed her historical researches now gives regular talks on a variety of subjects. After moving to the Surrey Hampshire borders she discovered the Empress and her world. Her previous book, "Moments of Glory" delved into cricketing history and stories of those players who produced one momentous performance that thrust them temporarily into the spotlight.
