This is a wonderfully written account of one man's voyage from the 'old' to the 'new' world. It encompasses a personal and an historical reflection on Poland prior, during and immediately after World War II. It is also an important reflection on the transformations within the medical profession and changes in medical practice.
Dr Stefan A Carter is a Holocaust survivor and distinguished member of the medical profession, a retired professor from the University of Manitoba, and a highly respected citizen of Winnipeg. Over the past fifty years, he has made significant contributions to his city, to his profession and the medical community of Canada.
