The Agro Economic Research Centers (AERCs) and Units were established across the states in India to provide a policy feedback to the Ministry of Agriculture. These have functioned effectively for over five decades and generated many important research initiatives as well as debates. These volumes on Glimpses of Agricultural Economy of India are intended to introduce the readers to various concerns confronting Indian Agriculture and about which extensive research has been undertaken at the AERCs and Units in India. The studies are grouped into two broad themes based on macro and micro-level issues. The research subjects are post stratified and woven in a thematic sequence.
