He formerly directed Immunogenetics (HLA) laboratories at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University, William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI, Gift of Life Michigan and Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Retired as a Colonel in the reserves of the United States Air Force. Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty Board Certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. Has served as chairperson of national committees of the AABB and College of American Pathologists (CAP) and continues to serve as a laboratory inspector for the CAP.
