Following the success of their first joint publication, Industrial South Yorkshire in Pictures, Paul Walters and Giles Brearley have again collaborated to produce a fascinating photographic record of events in and around Doncaster during the period from the 1950's to the 1980's.The book, which draws upon the renowned Mike Walters photographic archive, covers work and leisure activities in Doncaster and the surrounding areas including Mexborough, Conisborough, Denaby, Rossington, Finningley, Edlington and Thorpe Marsh. There is also a special section covering the dramatic gas explosion just before Christmas 1981. This occurred when an oil drilling team operating on Hatfield Moor, struck a huge pocket of natural gas.
