This volume provides a forum to discuss the ways to increase and strategies to manage diversity with in the legal and political boundaries of the United States in the absence of Affirmative Action. This title reflects upon the positive affect that diversity in higher education has on the students, faculty, and community involved. Dr. Yolanda Flores Niemann is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Comparative Ethics Studies at Washington State University; And an Affiliate Faculty in Women Studies and Graduate Faculty in American Studies. Her current research interests include effects of stereotypes across various domains, the social ecological contexts of stereotyping, the psychological effects of tokenism and overcoming obstacles to Latina/o higher education. Dr. Geoffrey Maruyama is a Professor of Educational Psychology and Interim Associate Vice President for Multicultural and Academic Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. His interests in the future of diverse urban schools has led him to reearch a range of issues in schools including, school schedules and structures, teaching approaches and student background characteristics.
