'Listen' is divided into three sections: nudes, landscapes, and still lifes. It is a highly personal work and is in a sense a memento mori, which follows in the tradition of many photographers and artists who, at a certain age, focus on the subjects of the nude, landscape, and still life.
Mark Seliger is an American photographer who served as the chief photographer for "Rolling Stone" from 1992 to 2002 and shot more than one hundred covers for the magazine. Born in Amarillo, Texas, he now lives in New York and works for several Conde Nast publications, including "GQ" and "Vanity Fair." Seliger has published several books, including "In My Stairwell" (Rizzoli, 2005). Fred Woodward is currently the design director of "GQ." He is a recipient of the American Institute of Graphic Arts Medal--the highest honor his profession bestows.
