Observe nature, be inspired by it and start experimenting. These are the tenets upon which Loose Leaf was created by Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler. In their stunning first book, Loose Leaf, they show us the many ways we can bring the beauty of nature into our homes and our lives. Their philosophy is that plants, flowers and nature are essential for our health and wellbeing. 12 practical projects, based on Wona's unique sculptures and installations, show us (through exquisite photography) how to make items such as seasonal wreaths, Monstera orbs, Roadside Bouquets and natural sculptures. Loose Leaf also showcases earthy and inventive flower and foliage arrangements for your home with basic information on the types of vegetation that work together harmoniously. From your own backyard to urban roadsides and far-flung coastlines, Loose Leaf's incredible botanical art will kick-start your own ideas and creativity.
Wona Bae was born and grew up on a flower farm in Korea. Her name means 'best seedling'. Wona Bae originally studied for a degree in Fashion Design, before learning the art of Kokozi (Korean style Ikebana) and undertaking a Degree in Horticulture. Finally, she studied a Master of Floristry in Germany under the guidance of master florist, Ursula Wegener. Charlie Lawler was born in Tasmania and his family had a plant nursery. Charlie is a designer and met Wona Bae in Germany. Together Wona Bae and Charlie are Loose Leaf, their business which runs classes, undertakes commissions for commercial and private clients and sells plants and flowers from their Loose Leaf store in Melbourne, Australia. They are hotly in demand.
