Ellie Barton has spent her young life living in the dilapidated manor house with her elderly father. She has worked as the curator of the Ruskin Collection in Sheffield and is the author of the non-fiction work Magpies, Squirrels and Thieves and the novels Kissing Alice and Obedience. She currently lives in France.
