Lorenzo J. Greene (1899-1988) was Professor Emeritus of History at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was the author of several books, including The Negro in Colonial New England, 1620-1776 and Working with Carter G. Woodson, the Father of Black History: A Diary, 1928-1930. Gary R. Kremer is Executive Director of The State Historical Society of Missouri. He is the author and editor of numerous works, including James Milton Turner and the Promise of America: The Public Life of a Post-Civil War Black Leader; Missouri's Black Heritage, Revised Edition; and George Washington Carver: In His Own Words (all University of Missouri Press). He lives in Jefferson City, Missouri. Antonio F. Holland is an independent scholar who lives in Jefferson City, Missouri.
