Following a hugely successful touring exhibition throughout 2011-12, Paul Harries, Britain's pre-eminent rock photographer, has now selected the best of his stunning Slipknot photographs for a new book.Paul has enjoyed unparalleled access to this most extraordinary band for almost 15 years. Their ground-breaking metal music and amazing visual presence have combined to make Slipknot an incredible success. And Paul has been up close for the ride. "Slipknot is not always the easiest band to capture in the true essence of photography and also not very easy to work with in the photo environment," admits Shawn Crahan, aka Slipknot's Clown. "Paul Harries has always been able to capture the band in its true form and has also been able to put up with all our bullshit that surrounds us night and day. Look at 'the 'Knot' as seen through the eyes of a true photographer, artist and friend." "It has been great to be a part of the Slipknot circus," says Paul. "Such a visual and exciting band like this is a gift for a photographer like me, although they are often unpredictable!"
As well as Slipknot, photographer Paul Harries has worked with Nirvana, Muse, Green Day, Metallica, AC/DC, Biffy Clyro, Ozzy Osbourne and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 2012, The Strand Gallery London hosted Paul's first solo exhibition, dedicated to Slipknot. The event was a critical and commercial success. Previous to this, his work could be seen as part of the Six Shooters collaboration, displayed at Proud Gallery.
