Description

Massimo Siragusa's complex and, in many ways, enigmatic project demands a long introduction. How has Siragusa chosen to portray Italy? Are these landscape photos? Snapshots? Portraits of places? Is this an anthropological collection with very few humans? Or an architectural collection? The answer to all of these questions is invariably: no. Siragusa's entire collection is shot through with this evocative energy. Italy is a land of theatre sets and events that, simply by taking place, created the space for their own representation from Luca Doninelli's introduction
