Wolfgang Donsbach is Professor of Communication and foundingdirector of the Department of Communication at Dresden Universityof Technology, Germany. Donsbach served as the Editor-in-Chief forthe 12 volume ICA International Encyclopedia ofCommunication (Blackwell, 2008) and is also the Series Editorfor the ICA-Wiley-Blackwell International Encyclopedias ofCommunication. From 1995 to 1996 he was president of the WorldAssociation for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) and from 2004 to2005 president of the International Communication Association(ICA). He was editor of the International Journal of PublicOpinion Research and serves, among others, on the editorialboards of Journal of Communication, CommunicationTheory, Human Communication Research, and the Central EuropeanJournal of Communication. Donsbach is an ICA Fellow andrecipient of WAPOR's Helen-Dinerman-Award for extraordinaryachievements in public opinion research.
