Andrew Norriss was born in Scotland, went to university in Ireland and taught history in England for ten years before becoming a full-time writer. He has written and co-written many episodes of Bafta Award-winning comedy and children's drama for television, and has written six novels for children, including Aquila, which won the Whitbread Children's Book of the Year.
