In this book of pastoral writings, Jonathan Wittenberg has chosen to use his own life and experience as the template for a learned, and profound, meditation on just how we may make sense of our lives and those we love.
Jonathan Wittenberg was born in Glasgow in 1957. Having a strong interest in literature and language he read English at Cambridge, before spending time exploring his Jewish identity in Israel. He qualified as a teacher then studied for the rabbinate at Leo Baeck College in London, and in Jerusalem. He has been rabbi of the New North London Synagogue since 1987, and is senior rabbi of the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues, U.K.
