Born in Taiwan, Tsai now lives in Hangzhou, China. Brian Bruya is professor of philosophy at Eastern Michigan University, where he teaches Chinese and comparative philosophy. Edward Slingerland is professor of Asian studies at the University of British Columbia and the author of Trying Not to Try: Ancient China, Modern Science, and the Power of Spontaneity.
