Danny Cleary is back. Clean of drugs and fighting fit, she settles into Toronto and jumps back into the ring. Between staying in a crowded house with her musician brother, emotionally empty brother-in-law and adolescent twin nephews while hunting for a place to call her own, Danny's life settles into a pleasantly chaotic round of domesticity -- and mixed martial arts.
When she discovers that a friend and fellow fighter -- who works as a stripper to pay the bills -- is being shaken down by some unsavoury characters, Danny reluctantly enters a different kind of underworld, one of strip clubs and sleaze. And soon enough she realizes that the puppet master may be none other than Chandler York, the man who had her twin sister killed and whose acolytes were responsible for her husband's death.
Once again Danny becomes her own best weapon in a hunt to bring down the man who would destroy the rest of her family. The climax of the first Danny Cleary trilogy will be a shocking, satisfying race to the finish - and to see who's left standing.
