Karen Harper-Dorton is Professor of Social Work, School of Applied Social Sciences, at the West Virginia University. She serves as Director of the Burgess Center for West Virginia Families and Communities. Formerly, she served as Dean of the School of Social Work, West Virginia University, Assistant Dean and Assistant Dean, Director of the Master of Social Work Program, The Ohio State University. She is co-author of Cross-Cultural Practice: Social Work with Diverse Populations and Working with Children and Families, 2 Martin Herbert is Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Royal and Devon Exeter Health Care Trust and Emeritus Professor at the University of Exeter. Formerly, he was Director of the Centre for Behavioural Work with Families at the University of Leicester. His previous publications include Psychology for Social Workers, Working with Children and the Children Act and Clinical Child Psychology: Social Learning, Development and Behaviour.
