Steven Spielberg directs this adaptation of the Broadway musical starring Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler. Set in 1961 in Manhattan's West Side, the film depicts the forbidden love affair between Tony and Maria (Elgort and Zegler), two young lovers caught on opposite sides of a violent gang war between the Jets and the Sharks.
