Description
A blackly comic tale set in a grisly, too pre-failed to fail English university, where the students invent a mascot: an imaginary student; a Photoshop Frankenstein, who grows monstrous as they empty into him all the worst of themselves. As the narrator Julia, a horrified University Registrar, looks on, this meta-student dominates social media, rises effortlessly to national power, and inflicts national destruction.
About the Author
Richard Major has adopted the character of Dr. Felix Culpepper from his own novel 'Quintember' for this radical satire. Culpepper is an elitist homicidal classics don at a fictional Cambridge college, while Major gained his DPhil at Magdalen College, Oxford with a thesis on literary philosophy. He also has degrees in history, literature and theology, and was formerly the Anglican Chaplain of Florence. He now lives with his wife and two children in Africa.
