About the Author
Kim Manresa has produced all manner of ethnographic and social justice reportage in collaboration with various international magazines and newspaper. For the photographs in this book he was awarded the Silver Medal for Photojournalism of the Society of Newspaper Design in the USA, the Visa d'Or for L'Image del Festival International du Photojournalisme in Perpignan (France) and the Human Rights Award for the International Week of Photojournalism of Gijon (Spain). Isabel Ramos Rioja has worked as an editor of La Vanguardia newspaper since 1983. She has travelled extensively through North Africa, the Middle East and Central Africa and speaks five languages, including Arabic, which she studied in Rabat, Tunisia and Damascus. Her journalism focuses particularly on social problems related to immigration, and she has also closely covered the Algerian conflict.
