Prof. Dr. Gerd Binnig, Ph.D. founded Definiens in 2000 after an extended pre-development phase. He is IBM fellow, honorary professor at the LMU and received as a major pioneer in nanotechnology many prizes, including the Nobel Prize (1986) and the Kavli Prize (2016). With Definiens, he enabled computers to include context in cognition processes.Prof. Dr. Ralf Huss, MD is Chief Medical Officer at Definiens. He is board certified in anatomical, surgical and molecular pathology and has more than 25 years of experience in histopathology, cancer research, biomarker development and immunology and holds academic appointments at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and the University College Dublin.Dr. Guenter Schmidt heads the Definiens scientific research team and has been contributing to the Tissue Phenomics methodology with his expertise in image analysis, data mining and systems biology. He is author of numerous publications and patents related to Tissue Phenomics.
